   “SOCIAL NETWORKING AND ACTIVISM”

The Journal of Latin American Communication Research, sponsored by 
ALAIC, invites academics and researchers to send manuscripts and 
proposals to the Volume 3, Issue 1, dedicated to “Social Networking and 
Activism”.

The issue looks for papers that expand or critique our understanding 
about new ways of participation through the use of traditional and new 
media in the Latin American context. How is the region facing the 
conformation of a networked society? How are politics and democracy 
changing? Who are the current activists and leaders? How social media is 
contributing to change the social practices? What is the real impact of 
new ways of associations for the society? What is the role of 
communications in the definition of citizenship? Even when these 
questions do not limit the reception of manuscripts, they orientate the 
topic of this issue.

+ Submission Deadline: December, 15th 2012
+ Notification of first Acceptance: February, 28th 2013
+ Notification of final Acceptance: March, 30th 2013
+ Publication Date:  May, 30th 2013
