About Bianet:
Bianet is an alternative media organisation based in Istanbul. It is one of the few alternative media organisations, doing rights-based journalism to provide news critically and uncensored on issues such as democratisation of media systems, representation of minorities, children and women in media, human rights, freedom of expression, education, media freedom, religion, politics, labour, and culture. Bianet (and its implementing body IPS Communication Foundation) are organised around four main activities:

1. News production (Bianet),
2. Training Programmes for communication faculties graduates,
3. Quarterly media monitoring reports, monthly male violence reports and monthly "how did media report on children?" reports
4. The publication of journalism books.
