*CALL FOR PAPERS:* Conference on Communicating Medical Error (COME)

The University of Lugano's Institute of Communication and Health (ICH) invites the submission of papers and posters for its 2013 conference on Communicating Medical Errors (COME) in Switzerland. COME brings together scholars from various fields to engage in an international dialogue about the state of knowledge on medical errors and to identify a coherent agenda for future research investigations beyond disciplinary and geographical boundaries (see www.come.usi.ch <http://www.come.usi.ch/>). Paper and poster submissions are invited on substantial, original, and unpublished research on all aspects of medical error: incident prevention, intervention, identification, analysis, reporting, correction, and disclosure. COME encourages submissions from a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to communication, medicine, public health and health policy, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, ethics, economics, and law.

*REQUIREMENTS*

Papers and posters should describe original work. They should emphasize completed rather than intended research, and should indicate clearly the state of completion of the reported results. Papers and posters accepted for presentation at COME 2013 should not have already been presented at any other meeting with publicly available proceedings. Papers that are being submitted to other conferences or workshops must indicate this in the submission process.

*SUBMISSION INFORMATION*

Extended abstracts of max. 750 words should be submitted electronically through EasyChair (https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=come2013) between 2 July and 15 August 2012. Non-presenters may also submit an application for attendance on the conference website during this time period.

*REVIEWING*

Paper and poster reviews will be double-blind. Final decisions on the acceptance will be communicated by the COME organization no later than 1 October 2012.
