Senior Lecturer, Digital Film Production (practice and theory)*

Closing Date: Wednesday 6 June 2012

We are looking for a Senior Lecturer in Digital Film Production to join our
Production Department here at Ravensbourne in our award-winning new campus, next to the 02 on the Greenwich Peninsula in London (www.rave.ac.uk <http://www.rave.ac.uk>).

Our broadcast courses are highly regarded in the television and film industries and almost all our graduates gain employment after they leave. Many are already undertaking part-time
work from the second year during the holidays and at weekends.

Our digital film production course is our most popular BA, and the number of students applying - in line with our overall offering - has grown in response to the greater interest in vocational studies due to the new financial climate in Higher Education. We are therefore adding a fast-track option which has its first intake from September 2012. The course foregrounds exploration of Digital Film within the new digital mediascape, including new orientations to film production, audience studies, emerging technologies and platforms, and the evolving cultural significance of film in an increasingly transmedia, networked,
global industry.

We run an annual conference for industry and academia in 3D Stereoscopic television and film which attracted just under 800 delegates last March, and are opening a new applied research centre - Innovation Lab - over the course of the next academic year. The centre will blend applied and pure research and aims to keep Ravensbourne at the forefront of
digital design, media, and technology.

We have strong relationships with large technology and media companies such as Sky, the BBC, Apple, Adobe, Red Bee, Cisco and with The Royal Television Society and BAFTA. We are also part of the Greenwich and East London regeneration initiatives.

Dr Freddie Gaffney, the Course Leader, would be pleased to chat to anyone interested in applying for the role: (f.gaffney /at/ rave.ac.uk) <mailto:(f.gaffney /at/ rave.ac.uk)>.
