Digital Media, Culture and Creative Industries in China



This programme looks at how Chinese society has enthusiastically 
embraced digital media and the massive impact these have had on Chinese 
culture and society. It also examines China’s model of parallel 
development in the creative and manufacturing industries and how this 
model compares with approaches in the largely post-industrial West. 
Students will look at China’s post-World Trade Organisation media 
landscape; advertising, luxury consumption and the importance of the 
brand, as well as the key issue of intellectual property in China.
