[ecrea] CONFERENCE: After Girl Power, What Next?

AFTER GIRL POWER: WHAT'S NEXT? is a Girls' Studies conference being held at
Berrick Saul Humanities Centre, University of York, 24-25 February 2012 and
organised by the Centre for Women's Studies, University of York.

The conference highlights research being conducted in the emerging field
of Girls' Studies and covers topics such as girl power, identity and
sexuality, girls and the internet, young adult literature, body image
and beauty, and activism. The conference begins with readings by Centre
for Women's Studies alumnae, Rozena Maart and Paula Morris, and a
reading of student Ailish McAlpine-Green's play, "Period Lessons."
Saturday includes concurrent panels by Girls' Studies' activists and
researchers from around the world.

The event is open to all but everyone must register. Tickets on an age and
income-related sliding scale.
