We are writing to inform you about the publication of a new number of 
the journal /I/C/(Scientific Information and Communication Journal), 
published by the Department of Journalism I of Seville University, 
featuring papers by:

         o Burke, Peter: “La República de las letras como sistema de
           comunicación (1500-2000)”.
         o Eco, Umberto: “El vértigo de la lista”.
         o Servaes, Jan: “Comunicación para el Desarrollo Humano y el
           Cambio Social. El papel de la  Comunicación en la Incidencia
           Política para la Construcción de la Paz”.

/I/C/ is an annual publication open to contributions related to multiple 
disciplines and areas of knowledge in which socio-communicative issues 
form their epistemological core. The journal contains interdisciplinary 
discussions between philosophers, sociologists, psychologists, 
historians and economists on modern information and public 
communication, from a critical perspective.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that original papers can now be 
submitted for publication in the 2012 issue of /I/C/, entitled: 
“Communication, University and the Public Sphere: new challenges, new 
approaches”. More information about the call can be found at:

covering a wider range of subjects within the field of communication can 
also be submitted for publication in the 2012 issue of /I/C/.

We would also like to invite you to contribute to the Reviews Section, 
which covers a broad range of subjects, and is keyed to treating and 
disseminating communication research sources in several ways. Taking 
this into account, the following will be considered for publication:

         o Reviews of books and journals related to communication,
           published in the year of the publication of our journal.
         o Reviews of classics (not necessarily books), which ought to
           be recuperated because of their “current pertinence” or
           simply for commemorative reasons (anniversaries,
           centenaries, etc.).
         o Reviews of doctoral theses or unpublished research works.
         o Reviews of electronic sources of special interest in the
           field of communication (e.g. databases of studies on
           communication or digital archives related to the history of
           the press).
         o Papers about the “state of the question” in research on a
           specific subject (reviewing all types of sources that are
           relevant to its research).
         o Other types of contributions can be submitted, prior
           consultation with the section’s coordinator.

Submissions to this section should be less than five pages long (Times 
New Roman 12, 1.5 line spacing), and originals should be sent to

 EL NÚMERO DE 2012 DE IC NO SE DEDICARÁ A ESTE TEMA EN EXCLUSIVIDAD 
SINO QUE TAMBIÉN INVITA A CONTRIBUIR CON ARTÍCULOS SOBRE UNA TEMÁTICA 
MÁS AMPLIA.  Dicho plazo se cerrará el 15 de Abril de 2012.

También le invitamos a contribuir a la sección bibliográfica, que abarca 
un abanico amplio de contenidos, y se interesa por reseñas de libros y 
revistas, relacionadas con la comunicación, publicadas en el año de 
edición de la revista, reseñas de textos clásicos, tesis doctorales, 
fuentes electrónicas o artículos sobre el "estado de la cuestión" de la 
investigación acerca de un determinado tema.
