Current Affairs Television: Then and Now will be an important conference about British television current affairs – the first for more than five years. Focusing on the long-running current affairs series, it will examine the health of this significant genre of television which makes an important contribution to social and political understanding in Britain and combines elements of journalism and documentary. The conference promises a lively mix of academic and industry contributors, and aims to strengthen links between current affairs practitioners and academics, as well as stimulating further research into television current affairs.
