We
are pleased to announce that the full programme for the Small Media
Initiative’s second conference, Rethinking
small media,
is now available here: goo.gl/MhhjD
<http://t.co/G0q7tzlS>

The
conference will take place at the School of Oriental and African
Studies (SOAS), University of London on 6-7 October 2012.

The
event, to include five sessions (with lots of room for discussion!),
two lightning talks, a magazine launch and film screening, will bring
together academics, journalists, bloggers, techies and activists to
explore some of the intractable binaries (online/offline, small/big
media, old/new social movements, control/freedom) that dominate our
thinking about media and politics.

Join
in the conversation with:

Annabelle
Sreberny (SOAS), Tim Jordan (King’s College London), Joss Hands (Anglia
Ruskin University), Paolo Gerbaudo (King’s College London), Antonin
Moulart (Internet Sans Frontières), Janet Gunter (rizominha.net <http://rizominha.net>),
Gus Hosein (Privacy International), Oliver Leistert (Universität
Paderborn), Federico "bomboclat" Prando (autistici/inventati dot org),
Gillian Youngs (University of Brighton), Anastasia Kavada (University
of Westminster), Jérémie Bédard-Wien (Coalition Large de l’Association
pour une Solidarité Syndicale Étudiante), Sameer Padania (Open Society
Foundations-London), Pooneh Ghoddoosi (BBC), Claire Ulrich (Global
Voices), Jennifer Jones (University of the West of Scotland), Nazek
Ramadan (Migrant Voice), Matt McAlister (Guardian Media Group), Rohan
Jayasekera (Index on Censorship)

You
can purchase tickets for £30 (incl. conference materials, breakfasts,
lunches and a drinks reception) here: goo.gl/n22dG <http://t.co/ieHpdfZJ>
