A special issue on *Asian Modernities: Culture, Politics and Media* guest edited by Raka Shome is forthcoming in Global Media and Communication, volume 8(3)(December 2012). Exploring how modernity is experienced, articulated, and struggled over beyond the West, this special issue gathers a distinguished group of scholars working on modernity and media in Asia, and challenges west centric logics of the ‘modern’ that dominate our scholarship. The issue will appeal to anyone interested in non western modernities.
