Professor in Screen Practice:
The School offers BA(Hons) programmes in Filmmaking & Screenwriting and

cohort of doctoral researchers, many working in a practice-based mode in
and across the disciplines of screen, performance, digital media and the
visual arts.
The successful applicant will be a leading authority in an area of
Screen Practice/Screen Studies, which may encompass film, television,
multimedia or time-based visual art, and will demonstrate a commitment
to collaborative and imaginative academic development, with the ability
to inspire innovation and build constructive working relationships with
colleagues, students and external partners.
Applicants will be educated to PhD level in a relevant subject area. You
will also have substantial experience of academic and/or industry
leadership, a track record in generating research income, and the
ability to effectively supervise and examine practice-led research, with
an internationally-recognised level of recent research output.
and Studio and Technical Operations Manager
The School of Creative and Cultural Industries is an ambitious,
forward-looking school, delivering programmes at three of the
University’s campuses, including the extensive purpose-built facilities
within the new £81 million Ayr Campus building. These facilities include
a suite of radio studios, television studios, performance areas, music
studios and computer laboratories. With Skillset Media Academy Status
and exciting plans for REF 2014, we are looking now for an outstanding
individual to join our team in a newly established and significant role
for the School.
The Studio and Technical Operations Manager will have a broad range of
responsibilities. As an entirely new commercial enterprise an early
priority will be to establish the studios, creating and building a
network of contacts, and you will work in partnership with the Skillset
Media Academy Manager to develop a marketing strategy in order to meet
commercialisation and knowledge exchange targets. As well as overseeing
the specialist facilities, you will balance the commercial aspects of
the post with optimising the student experience.
You will be highly self-motivated with high level financial planning,
and a mix of academic, technical and commercial skills and experience.
You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the target markets for
commercialising the studios, and supporting the provision of the
Skillset Media Academy, and have proven experience of business
development including planning and execution of business development
activity. A degree or equivalent is essential with commitment to CPD,
plus extensive technical experience.
The post will be based at the Ayr Campus, though you will oversee School
technical operations at other campuses, and be expected to travel as the
post requires.
