Assistant Professor
Journalism Studies
The Missouri School of Journalism invites applications for a 
tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Journalism Studies 
beginning in August 2012. We seek an outstanding scholar with a 
commitment to excellence in teaching and a desire to contribute to the 
dynamic and collaborative culture at the world’s first School of Journalism.
Successful candidates will be scholars who employ qualitative research 
methods in their own work and who can provide clear evidence of the 
ability to teach qualitative methodologies effectively in the School’s 
graduate program (M.A. and Ph.D.) as well as to lead large lectures in 
the core curriculum of the undergraduate program. Successful candidates 
also will exhibit the potential for a productive program of scholarly 
research in journalism. Teaching or research interest in cross-cultural 
or international journalism and professional experience in journalism 
also are highly desirable.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in journalism, communication, or a related 
discipline by the date of appointment.
