*Institute of Communications Studies*

ICS is one of the oldest and largest departments

of communication, media and cultural studies in

Europe, with over 600 undergraduate students, 170

postgraduates, and 30 PhD researchers, housed in a

superb new building at the heart of the Leeds campus.

We are a highly regarded multidisciplinary research department,

with particular strengths in the analysis of international

communication, media industries and political communication,

and emerging strengths in journalism and visual communication.

We offer four undergraduate and five postgraduate degrees,

taught by over 30 academic staff. ICS combines strengths in

critical communication and media research with the teaching

of communication history, theory and practical skills.
