Postgraduate study in Drama at the University of Manchester
Drama at the University of Manchester has a
number of AHRC and University-related awards for
Doctoral and Masters study commencing September 2011.
Deadline for applications to the University: 15th February
Deadline for applications for funding: 1st March
The Manchester MAs in Drama offer diverse,
flexible and challenging programmes of study for
students wanting to enhance their artistic and
professional career options and/or prepare for
doctoral study. They include 60 credits of
structured delivery followed by a range of
opportunities for students to construct a
bespoke programme from specialist areas.
We offer MAs in Screen Studies, Theatre and
Performance, and Theatre and Performance

Drama was rated 4* and 3* in 85% of our research
outputs in the 2008 Research Assessment
Exercise. Our staff are research-active within
the four main strands that comprise our
particular profile: theatre studies, applied
theatre, theatre history and screen studies. The
notions of â??dialogueâ?? with ideas,
practices, and communities â?? and â??social
engagementâ?? developing critical awwareness
of the impact of research and practice - are at
the heart of all our practical and intellectual explorations.
