> Intellect is seeking contributors to the China volume of its 
> Directory of World Cinema, centred upon the cinemas of Mainland 
> China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Intended as an authoritative and 
> comprehensive resource for both students and scholars, the volume 
> will provide a wide-ranging survey of filmmaking in the three 
> Chinas, chiefly in the form of critically-engaged film reviews, 
> analytical essays (examining key aspects of Chinese film history, 
> industry, reception, and aesthetics), and case studies devoted to 
> leading figures and generic trends. Grounded in academic film 
> history, theory, and analysis, the volume aims to enrich readers' 
> appreciation and knowledge of Chinese film.

> Contributions assigned at this stage will have an October 1, 2010
