Advertisement for two research assistants? positions
The Erich Brost Institute for International Journalism at the University
of Dortmund is looking for two research assistants (50%, monthly salary of
about 1.600 EUR) for the research project MediaACT. MediaACT is funded
within EU FP7 and examines innovations in the self-control of media in
European countries (www.brost.org). In the focus, there will be a detailed
study of European journalists and media managers.
Start date: November or December 1, 2009
Duration of the project: 3 1/2 years

As scientific officer (m/f) you already have first experiences in the
research of media ethics. You will be responsible for the management of
the research part of the project (preliminary studies, empirical surveys,
evaluations, publications) and work together with research teams in 13
countries.
As administrative officer (m/f) you are experienced in coordinating
international research projects. You will be responsible for the full
reporting of the project; you will coordinate conferences and
publications, and actively participate in the German part of the research
project.
In addition to outstanding professional expertise demonstrated by an
above-average university degree in journalism/communication science (or in
related fields), we expect excellent communication and teamwork skills as
well as the ability to work under time pressure. Given the international
orientation of the project, we require an excellent command of the English
language and first research experiences.
There will be the possibility to pursue a PhD.
