Casual Lecturers, Tutors and Demonstrators

SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATION

The School of Journalism and Communication is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced people to perform casual lecturing, tutoring and/or demonstrating in our School in a variety of areas (feature writing, law and ethics in journalism, health communication and medical journalism, visual communication, photojournalism).

Applicants will be expected to teach/tutor and/or demonstrate in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, perform marking activities, respond to student queries, and contribute generally to the School's academic and intellectual life.

Successful candidates must possess teaching experience and state-of-the-art knowledge of their particular specialisation.  Postgraduate qualifications and a demonstrated record of course coordination and/or professional leadership would be highly regarded. Preference will be given to qualified PG students in the School of Journalism and Communication.

Appointees would be required to take up duties as soon as possible in time for commencement of second semester 2005.

The School of Journalism and Communication operates in a dynamic environment with its programs designed to be at the cutting edge.  The School publishes an innovative monthly newspaper and produces a weekly current affairs program for Brisbane public radio.
