Mac users are the best, says survey

Mac users have more money, are better educated and have more
sophisticated tastes than the average PC user, according to a survey by
Nielsen NetRatings released this week.

Mac users like to think of themselves as creatives. Graphic designers,
photoshoppers and journalists have traditionally chosen Macs over PCs
for their user-friendliness and simple interface - but the discovery
that industry 'creatives' are better off than their colleagues will
surprise many journalists.

Nielsen NetRatings analyses trends among web users for e-commerce and
marketing companies. Their latest cross-section of web life shows that
Mac users are more likely to create their own websites, and to search
for reviews on the Web before buying. This may bury for once and for all
the myth that Mac users buy Apple because they haven't figured out how
to use PCs. 

NetRatings also discovered that Mac users were unlikely to bother with
frivolities like online horoscopes and games, preferring to research
classical and jazz music on the Web.

Cleverer, richer, and more sophisticated: Mac fans haven't had it so
good since 1999, when they smugly avoided the Millennium Bug scare.
