Fri Mar 24 14:58:01 GMT 2023
.able, a free image-based multiplatform journal that publishes research
at the intersection of art, design, and sciences, is now available.
.able's web platform and social media propose visually striking and
radically new forms of publications where sensitivity is at the foreground.

From the design of sustainable fashion or bioluminescent
micro-architecture, to the dynamics of bacterial contamination or the
exploration of deep sleep, .able journal, through five visual essay
formats (scroll.able, pan.able, zoom.able, story.able, video.able),
provides multiple entry points to research in art, design, and sciences
for all. A peer-reviewed journal to investigate contemporary
sociopolitical, anthropotechnical, and environmental issues.

To celebrate this launch, a week of activities, from March 23 to 29, is
being held to explore .able
How can we go beyond text in communicating practice-based research at
the intersections of art, design, and science?
The traditional methodologies and formats of journal articles are not
always adapted to research that explores sensorial and singular forms.
.able is the result of observing this limitation; its goal is the
innovative publication of interdisciplinary, practice-based research
through images.
As a peer-reviewed journal, .able experiments with the potentials of
academic publishing, going beyond the conventions of traditional
text-centric publishing to explore the many alternatives and
opportunities that multimedia and multiple platforms offer.
