Established in 2006, the journal is a joint
project of the Syndicate of Journalists of the
Czech Republic and selected university
departments in the Czech and Slovak Republic
dealing with academic reflection of the role of
mass media in society and with professional
communicators training. Media Studies is a
peer-reviewed quarterly publishing theoretical
and empirical papers, translations of papers from
other languages, research reports, highquality
student papers, essays, reviews and current news
in the field of media studies and journalism. The
journal is issued four times per year (three
issues in Czech and one issue in English).
