Wed May 08 18:44:50 GMT 2024

Sarah Arnold likes to promote two positions available in the Department of Media Studies, Maynooth University, Republic of Ireland. The university is based around 20 miles from Dublin city. The first post is for an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Professor role in Media Studies, to carry out research on and to teach subjects related to media studies, media theory and film studies. See here for further details: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DHL960/assistant-professor-lecturer-in-media-studies-media-theory

The second post is also for an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Professor role in Media Studies, but with a teaching emphasis on AV practice and delivering screen production modules on the undergraduate programme. Details are here: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DHL936/assistant-professor-lecturer-in-media-studies-media-practice

The posts commence on September 1st 2024 and are full time permanent. We're looking for someone whose research profile aligns with that of the Department, for example, gender and media, creative industries, media and film histories, digital media and digital humanities. Have a look at our Department website for more information: https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/media-studies

We're a small department of around 9 people with two undergraduates and one MA programme. We have a teaching load of approximately 2 modules per semester (approx 4-6 hours) and are research active, holding a number of large European, AHRC and IRC grants. If you have any questions about the role get in touch with Head of Media Studies (sarah.arnold /at/ mu.ie)

Deadline for both roles is 2nd June with a view to holding in-person interviews around 3 weeks later.
