Project details:

*Creative Communities, Digital Platforms, and Inclusion*
The creative industries have been at the forefront of processes of 
platformisation for some two decades. While fair remuneration has been a 
prominent issue – epitomised in public debates around music streaming 
and pay - platformisation has occasioned a whole host of issues for 
creative communities more widely. These include issues of 
inclusion/exclusion, intersectional inequalities, representation, and 
visibility, which are situated in broader political-economic contexts of 
corporate power, platform monopolies, and precarious labour under 
digital capitalism. This PhD will critically examine the complex issues 
around creative communities and inclusion in the digital platform era, 
for example in music, news, or gaming.
