[Commlist] Palestinian heritage, media, and peace vacancy for PG researchers

We are hiring a postgraduate or doctoral student with practical expertise in the tourism business and familiarity with Palestinian heritage, for the position of Research Fellow, to work on the project "Cultural Heritage in the Occupied Territories as a Means to Peace", funded by the British Council.

_Closing Date - extended: 3 March 2024._
Online interviews will follow shortly after selected candidates.

You must be a resident of an ODA-recipient country to be considered for this position.

The job:

You will spend up to 9 months based at De Montfort University in Leicester, England, under the supervision of Dr Giuliana Tiripelli (Media studies) and Dr Dr. Rami K. Isaac (Tourism studies) to organise research exploring Palestinian tourism as a means to transforming the conflict *through media* in war times. Please note that _the focus of the current position is on media_, and that there is no fieldwork involved.

The fellowship has training and research components, and it is suitable for PG students who want to practice research and develop interdisciplinary expertise to apply in their work once they are back in their home country at the end of this contract. You will be expected to produce research reports by the end of the fellowship.

Full time Fixed term until December 2024, start date is 1 April 2024 or as soon as possible after obtaining your VISA.

The Fellowship is part of the International Heritage Protection and Sustainable Development Research Fellowship Scheme funded by the British Council.
