The Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications for a
FULL PROFESSORSHIP (W3) OF COMMUNICATION WITH A FOCUS ON MEDIA USES AND
MEDIA EFFECTS (Chair)
commencing October 1, 2023.
The professorship is based at the Department of Media and Communication.
In research and teaching it will focus on the full breadth of questions
around media uses and media effects. The thematic focus of the
professorship could be on climate, health, political or entertainment
communication. A special interest in the development of innovative
research methods is required. The conditions of digital media
environments should be given special theoretical and methodological
consideration.
The candidate should have an outstanding track record in the field of
media reception and media effects research and a strong international
network of research cooperations. A willingness to transfer knowledge to
society is an advantage. The successful candidate will contribute to all
BA and MA programs offered in the Department of Media and Communication.
A strong commitment to teaching and the willingness to participate in
the further development of research and teaching in the Department and
in the Faculty of Social Sciences are expected.
Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral
degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at
university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and
promising research program.
