[Commlist] Job: Post Doctoral Research Assistant in Cinema Justice

York St John University's Cinema and Social Justice Project is seeking a 
Post-Doc RA to support our Audience Studies project. The project aims to 
reinforce the significance of film studies as an educational tool, and 
in particular as a conduit for lessons of Social Justice. The project 
has commissioned a short film from the Yorkshire Film Archive and North 
East Film Archive as part of our Screen Industries Growth Network and 
Research England funded project to survey the educational power of film.
This role, reporting to the project’s principal investigator, will be 
responsible for engaging in audience research data gathered from 
non-specialist public audiences in addition to FE-level students. The 
post holder will be expected to collaborate on the construction and 
facilitation of audience surveys. The role will be responsible for 
subsequent quantitative and qualitative data analysis and in the 
collaboration on a series of journal articles which will disseminate 
these findings.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Film, Media or a cognate 
discipline, with experience in qualitative and quantitative data 
collection methods. Experience in data analysis and pedagogical theory 
are desirable but not essential.
