The Department of Film and Television, School of Arts, University of
Bristol, is inviting applications for the position of
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Television

commencing 1^st October 2021, or sooner if possible.
What will you be doing?
You will contribute to the Department of Film and Television’s very
successful BA and MA programmes in Film and Television and its existing
strengths in film and television theory, history, criticism, and film
practice. You will have considerable experience of teaching television
studies at HE level and be well informed regarding key industrial and
policy developments in television industries and will have a strong
research track record in more than one of the following areas:
television form, style and aesthetics, television history(ies),
television genres (fact or fiction), writing for television, programme
development and production. An international focus beyond the UK is welcome.
You should apply if
You have a PhD in Television Studies, or Film Studies, or a related
area. You have built up a strong profile, demonstrable through your
teaching, research projects, grant capture, and publications, and have
clear plans for future research and grant capture (for appointment as
Senior Lecturer) OR you have a track record of high-quality publications
and clear and realistic plans for future research and grant capture (for
appointment as Lecturer).
