The Department of Film and Television, University of Bristol, is
inviting applications for the permanent position of Lecturer/Senior
Lecturer in Digital Animation.

The Department of Film and Television, University of Bristol, has
ambitious plans to expand digital animation, capitalising on its
outstanding research and teaching reputation and on Bristol's Unesco
City of Film status and on its famous creative industries such as
Aardman, the BBC and Channnel 4. The Department draws upon more than
fifty years of experience in teaching film and television studies with
creative practice in filmmaking.
What will you be doing?
You will play a key role in developing a new BA Digital Animation
programme in the Department of Film and Television, that is due to be
launched in 2023-24 as part of a wider digital arts plan for the School
of Arts. You will contribute to the existing curriculum in Film and
Television and will teach animation practice to undergraduate and
postgraduate students.
You should apply if
You have a PhD (or are within six months of completion, for Lecturer
only) and you have, or are developing, a strong track record of research
in the field of digital animation, or have developed this expertise as a
complement to your primary research; you have built up, or have the
capacity to build, a world-class profile as demonstrated through your
publications, research projects and grant capture (or the potential for
grant capture at the Lecturer level); you have experience of teaching
and curriculum development in the HE sector; and you are open to
collaborative teamwork and interdisciplinary research.
