The Division of Cinema and Media Studies at the School of Cinematic Arts 
at the University of Southern California invites applications for a 
tenure-track Assistant Professor position expected to begin on August 
16, 2019.

We seek a film and/or media theorist whose research is located at the 
intersection of queer and/or trans theory and critical race theory. We 
will consider a broad array of theoretical and methodological approaches 
but particularly welcome candidates whose work addresses any of the 
following areas: African and African diaspora studies; theories of 
blackness; Latin American studies; Latinx studies; Middle Eastern and 
Arab studies; theories of the global south; and/or indigenous studies.

Interested candidates should provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae 
including names and contact details for three references, and a sample 
of recent scholarship.

Minimum education: PhD degree
