Summary of Role
Full Time, Permanent
De Montfort University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer
in Film Practice to support growth in the area of Film Studies at BA
(single and joint) plus potentially across BSc Media Production and MA
International Film Production within the Leicester Media School.
The successful applicant will have the skills to lead and deliver film
practice and production-based modules with a focus on the technical
skills and storytelling abilities required by the film industries.
Experience of film making is essential, and the potential to package
this film practice as research outputs, as is a commitment to providing
outstanding teaching.
Key duties will include:
� Delivering core curricula.
� Developing and enhancing industry links.
� Refining graduate employability.
� Developing innovative cutting edge curricula.
� Assisting in developing an international reputation and enhancing
international recruitment.
The university is keen to support this staff member''s ongoing
professional standing through the school''s industry liaison network.
Experience of academic research is not essential but a commitment to
scholarship or practice-based enquiry would be advantageous, and the
university will support research activities and development.
