*Role Purpose*
?
The purpose of this role is to deliver excellent teaching and undertake
innovative research in the field of creative and cultural industries
management. The post offers the opportunity to teach on the division's
well-established and popular postgraduate program, MA Arts, Festival and
Cultural Management. In time, the successful candidate may also assume
programme leadership of this long-running programme. In addition, the
post holder will also contribute to the BA in Drama and Performance, in
relation to cultural and creative enterprise and arts management.

Specifically, in the first year of their appointment, it is envisaged
that the post holder will act as module coordinator for the following
modules:

Arts Management (Undergraduate)
Arts Management in Practice (Postgraduate)

Plus at least two of the following:

Managing Cultural Projects and Festivals (Postgraduate)
Strategic Management and Finance for Cultural Organisations (Postgraduate)
People Management, Governance and Law (Postgraduate)

Located within the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management, the
Division of Media, Communication and Performing Arts presently hosts a
significant number of undergraduate programs including: Film and Media,
Media, Theatre and Film Studies, Public Relations and Media, and Drama &
Performance.? Postgraduate programs within the division include the MSc
in Public Relations, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
Postgraduate Diplomas, and MAs in the areas of Arts, Festival and
Cultural Management and Culture and Creative Enterprise.
The Division has a significant and expanding research profile and
successfully submitted to the Media, Culture and Communication panel in
the REF 2013, it is hoped that the division will build on this success
in the next REF cycle. Staff members have attracted research funds from
a variety of sources including the ESRC, the AHRC, the Scottish
Executive, Carnegie Trust, Robertson Trust, NES and Chartered Institute
of Public Relations (CIPR). The Division organises and hosts various
events in support of its research and knowledge exchange, and
collaborates with the University and non-University sectors on research
and knowledge exchange projects.

To contribute to the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate
dissertations;
Contribute to the review of modules and programmes and to quality
assurance mechanisms;
Utilise innovative approaches to teaching and learning which includes
research-led teaching;
To act as a personal academic tutor;
To undertake administrative roles relevant to the management and
delivery of programmes, up to and including programme leadership;
Undertake other teaching-related administrative duties as appropriate.
