*Responsibilities*

The ideal candidate will have the research and teaching experience 
required to teach four courses a semester in the core curriculum and the 
Media Studies option (including media law, media industries, 
communications theory and research, and the senior seminar). The 
successful candidate will also be expected to develop and teach courses 
in her or his area of specialization. Outstanding teaching and scholarly 
publication will be expected. Additional duties include student advising 
and service at the department, college, and university levels.

*Qualifications*

_Minimum Qualifications_

The Assistant Professor of Communications position requires a Ph.D. in 
Media Studies or a related field in hand by the time of appointment, as 
well as a strong commitment to teaching and a promising scholarly 
research agenda. Candidates whose scholarship and teaching focus on 
digital media and/or media industry studies and who would complement 
existing faculty specializations in film and television are preferred.
