The Department of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State University inv=
ites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public Relation=
s beginning September 1, 2011. Responsibilities include teaching Introducti=
on to Public Relations, Public Relations Case Studies, and Writing for Publ=
ic Relations, as well as participating in departmental activities such as p=
rogram review, curriculum development, and advising and mentoring students.=
 Other communication teaching specialties and/or professional experience in=
 online public relations a plus. The successful candidate may teach core cu=
rriculum courses including first or second year seminars.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Public Relations or Communication. ABD cand=
idates who are actively pursuing degree completion are encouraged to apply.

Applicants with an active research agenda, teaching and/or work experience =
in public relations or a closely related area are preferred. Applicants sho=
uld be strongly committed to excellence in teaching and advising, to an act=
ive scholarly agenda, and to working in a multicultural environment that fo=
sters diversity. They should also have the ability to use technology effect=
ively in teaching and learning, have the ability to work collaboratively, p=
rovide evidence of scholarly activity, and be committed to public higher ed=
ucation.
