The Department of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State College invite=
s applications for a full-time tenure track position of Assistant Professor=
of Journalism beginning September 1, 2010.
Responsibilities include teaching Introduction to Journalism and other cour=
ses within the Media Studies & Communication Technologies concentration, as=
well as participating in departmental activities such as program review, c=
urriculum development, and advising and mentoring students. Candidate may t=
each Core Curriculum courses including first or second year seminars.
Ph.D. in Journalism/Communication or Media Studies required by September 20=
10.
Evidence of teaching experience or commitment to teaching. knowledge of wri=
ting for media, mass communication and journalism theories, convergent tech=
nology and computer-assisted reporting, participating in departmental and c=
ollege service, advising students, and pursuing an active research agenda i=
s expected.
Additional assignments in another area of specialty are possible.
Prior or current experience in the field of journalism is a plus.
