The Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna
invites applications for the position of
VISITING PROFESSOR IN CULTURAL STUDIES/MEDIA STUDIES
tenable from 1 October 2008 until 31 January 2009, full time employment, 4-
month limited contract.
The advertised position is in the Department of
English. Applicants should have
an excellent teaching and research record in the area of Cultural Studies
(English Studies) with reference to cultural theory and popular culture. The
Department of English is looking for candidates
with a distinguished record of
publications, a record of service to and
authority in the international academic
community, and experience in and enthusiasm for undergraduate and graduate
teaching. The teaching load is 8 hours/week per semester.

publications and conference papers
as well as an overview of courses taught. Any extensive additional material
(e.g. copies of publications) should not be included.
