interested studying at the Annenberg School for
Communication of the University of Pennsylvania.

This reception is meant for students who may
wish to consider applying for the PhD program at
the Annenberg School, University of Pennsylvania.
The reception will provide an opportunity for
high calibre international students who may be
considering pursuing a Communication PhD to
speak with faculty members and current graduate
students about their research, and the PhD
program as well as to learn more about the
Annenberg School along with the institutions and
centres affiliated with it, such as the Center
for Global Communication Studies and the Annenberg Public Policy Center.
With a faculty composed of internationally
regarded experts, the Annenberg School for
Communication, University of Pennsylvania, is
devoted to furthering our understanding of the
role of communication in public life through
research, education, and service at a national and international level.
Our students come from a wide variety of
backgrounds and undergraduate majors, and they
share a strong interest in communication topics,
conducting research, and excelling at what they
do. We are particularly interested in potential
students who bring with them a global
perspective informed through a combination of
professional and academic experience and are
keen to continue with a global focus to their
research. Potential areas include but are not limited to:
* International comparative perspectives on media
* Civil society and process of democratisation
* International development and media
* Innovative uses of new media and technology
* International media, law and public policy
* Globalization and Identity
