Conference: 24-26 June, 2026
Abstracts: 15 July, 2025 (Early)
Place: Madrid (+ virtual)

Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

Logistics by AMPS and Publications by Routledge.

This conference is interested in examining the future of education in the arts, design and media studies. It looks to the future of pedagogies in this field but, importantly, is also interested in understanding contemporary best practice and the lessons we can learn from earlier models of education and creative practice.

In that context, the ART, DESIGN and MEDIA STUDIES strands of the event seek disciplinary responses to questions including, but not limited to:

- How are creatives responding to the impact of AI?

- How are we applying emerging pedagogies like the flipped classroom and un-grading?

- Is internationalization & the decolonization of the curriculum being effectively applied?

- Is cross disciplinary teaching & research fostering creative teaching and learning?

- How are we experimenting with the latest, or older, educational technologies?

Located in Madrid, the conference takes place in a site with a deep rooted educational history. Home to the Royal Spanish Academy, the internationally renowned Instituto Cervantes and some of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, it is an ideal place to examine the future of education while prizing the best of its past and present practices.
