Call for Papers - VIII International Conference on Online Journalism
"Platforms and players: embracing innovation, facing challenges"
Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto
November 20th - 21st, 2024

The organisation of the VIIIth International Congress of Cyberjournalism (#8COBCIBER) invites interested researchers to submit communications proposals by June 30th, 2024, to be presented at the Congress, which will take place on November 20th and 21st at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto.

The communications should be about online journalism, with a particular preference for the topic of this #8COBCIBER: "Platforms and players: embracing innovation, facing challenges".

Proposals, in the form of an extended abstract, may be written in English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French. Each submission must include a description of 400 to 500 words, containing, in particular, the topic and its relevance, hypothesis or argument, conceptual and methodological framework, expected results, and up to five keywords.

Researchers must send their proposals in an editable file (doc, docx, rtf, etc.) to the email (obciber /at/ gmail.com) <mailto:(obciber /at/ gmail.com)>, indicating "#8COBCIBER: Abstract" in the subject.

The #8COBCIBER Scientific Committee will evaluate the proposals, and the result will be communicated to all authors by July 31st. In cases of acceptance, guidelines will be sent for publishing the articles in a book or special edition of a magazine (to be indicated). Complete articles must be submitted by October 31st, 2024.

Opening of the call for papers (extended abstracts): 15/04/2024
Call for papers close: 30/06/2024
Communication of results: 31/07/2024
Deadline for submitting full articles: 31/10/2024
