ECREA Health Communication TWG and European Conference on Health 
Communication

The European Conference on Health Communication (ECHC) 2019 is a joint 
conference of the Health Communication Temporary Working Group (TWG) of 
the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) 
and the Health Communication Division of the German Communication 
Association (DGPuK). The conference will be held from 13 to 15 November 
2019 in Zurich (Switzerland). It is hosted by the Department of 
Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich (IKMZ).

The conference has a thematic focus on social aspects of health 
communication. It will provide a platform for discussing the 
interrelations between health, health communication, and people’s social 
contexts on various levels and from diverse perspectives. With the aim 
to represent the full scope of current health communication research, 
the ECHC also welcomes research on further issues of health 
communication. Please find the CFP at the following link:

The Health Communication Temporary TWG and the ECREA Young Scholars 
Network (YECREA) are at ECHC organizing also a round table debate titled 
„The responsible conduct of research: The ethical challenges and 
considerations in health communication studies“. The event aims to 
encourage young scholars to exchange and share their concerns, issues, 
questions, dilemmas, and ideas with other scholars at different stages 
of their career. It will take place at the 13 November (16:30 – 18:00) 
before the Get Together of the ECHC conference in Zurich. Participants 
(young and senior scholars) that would like to take part in the round 
table discussion can register by sending an email with their name and 
affiliation to Sara Atanasova (YECREA Representative) at 
sara.atanasova[at]fdv.uni-lj.si. Deadline for application: 1 September 2019.
