Call for Papers

Virtualis, the electronic journal of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, invites researchers in the social sciences and the humanities to submit articles for its second number. It will be published in July 2010 and will be dedicated to the the uses of social networks in the information society through the following thematic axes:

   * Educational uses of social networks
* Social networks and economic, environmental, cultural development and citizen participation
   * Collective intelligence and social networks

All submissions must be completed online no later than March 31st. 2010. To avoid technical problems, early submission is strongly encour­aged. Artciles will be accepted for revision as long as they fulfill the formal requirements specified at the Requirements for the reception of originals < http://www.ccm.itesm.mx/investigacion/virtualis/reglasing.html > document.


Virtualis is a half-yearly electronic journal specialized in the study of the information and knowledge society, of media and communication. It was created in January 2009 by the Information and Knowledge Society Research Group of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus.


The goal of this publication is to be a means for the diffusion of advances, discoveries, and results of the research of the academic community. It aspires to be an indexed journal that will fulfill the formal requirements of the scientific community and to become a valuable source of research in the field of communication. For this reason it has the strictest academic standards. The publication will be an Open Source Journal.


The articles submitted will be revised by a double blind peer review. The final decision will value scientific rigor, pertinence of the theoretical framework, the methodological proposal, and the relevance of the contributions.
