[Commlist] CCSN Junior (and baby) Scholars event

Thu Oct 22 20:30:17 GMT 2026

On 11 December 2026, the Content Creator Scholars Network (CCSN) will host its first online Junior (and Baby) Scholars Work-in-Progress Session, inviting PhD (and MA) students, doctoral researchers, and early-career scholars to discuss research on creator and influencer cultures that is still taking shape.

The session is designed to make space for the less polished stages of academic research, which rarely find their way into conventional conference presentations. We welcome projects at different stages of development, whether a chapter in progress, an emerging argument, a methodological challenge, an unfinished analysis, or a project that would benefit from additional perspectives.

Each participant will have 5 minutes to introduce their research and identify one or two questions they would like help thinking through, followed by 20-25 minutes of constructive group discussion with CCSN members across career stages, including more experienced scholars working across creator and platform studies. The aim is to facilitate an informal, supportive exchange that prioritizes collective discussion and constructive feedback.

The event is expected to be a full-day online symposium. We will share the exact schedule and timing closer to the date.

Expression of interest deadline: 23 November 2026

Interested participants are invited to email (ContentCreatorScholarsNetwork /at/ gmail.com) <mailto:(ContentCreatorScholarsNetwork /at/ gmail.com)> with:
- Their name and institutional affiliation
- A brief description of their project and its current stage
- One or two questions on which they would particularly appreciate feedback

We welcome contributions from across disciplines and methodological approaches engaging with creator and influencer cultures.
