CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

ARCHIVO Advanced Research Seminar 2027
Critical Perspectives: Photography, Archives, and Political Imagination

28 January – 29 July 2027 | Online

ARCHIVO invites applications for its 2027 Advanced Research Seminar, an international online programme exploring the relationships between photography, archives, political power, collective memory, and political imagination.

The seminar examines how photographic and archival practices contribute to producing, contesting, and transforming historical and political knowledge. It combines lectures, reading groups, guest webinars, and research discussions, encouraging participants to develop their own academic or practice-based projects.

The programme welcomes doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, artists, curators, and cultural practitioners. Researchers working in Communication and Media Studies are explicitly encouraged to apply, alongside colleagues in photography, visual culture, archival studies, art history, and related disciplines.

Format: Online, January–July 2027, 55 contact hours.
Language: English.
Application: Free.
Programme fee is required.
