Reham Hosny is pleased to share the new open-access book, /@ArabicElit:
Electronic Literature in the Arab World/, published by Bloomsbury, which
is now freely available online:

Exploring digital poetry, interactive fiction, augmented reality
narratives and AI-generated texts, the book examines how contemporary
Arabic electronic literature contributes to the global digital literary
landscape.
It also situates these creative practices within a long, interconnected
history of technological and literary innovation, from Muhammad ibn Musa
al-Khwarizmi’s foundational algorithms to Al-Jazari’s ingenious
automata, highlighting the formative contributions of Arab and Islamic
civilisations to the digital world.
At a time of geopolitical tension and cultural polarisation, the book
makes a case for intercultural dialogue through literature, reminding us
that digital creativity is not the product of a single culture, but
emerges from shared histories and human imagination.
