Dear Noemi,

Thanks for sending in a posting request for the commlist.

Can you please make sure all commlist guidelines are followed? You'll find them at commlist.org

please note that there is no "reading the guidelines" support, but you might want to look at the need for a factual (non-letter) format, and the need to avoid a paragraph + link posting.

Kind regards,
n

Dear colleague,
Thank you for accepting my subscription to the mailing list. I would like to post on the Commlist the following message for a call of paper.
Best regards,

______

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to share with you a call for papers for the international conference “Media Opposition: Political Actors, Information, and Power in Francophone and Italophone Contexts (19th–21st Centuries)”, organised by the LUHCIE Research Centre at Université Grenoble Alpes.

The conference aims to question the notion of a progressive democratisation of the media by examining the various forms of oppositional media that have emerged in Francophone and Italian-speaking contexts throughout the contemporary period (19th–21st centuries), from a historical and transnational perspective. In particular, we seek to explore the actors, media, networks and infrastructures that make these practices possible, as well as their relationship with political mobilisation, forms of freedom and repression, and transformations in public opinion. The conference also aims to foster dialogue between different historiographical traditions, while moving beyond the conventional divide between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and between historical and sociological approaches to the media.

The conference will take place at Université Grenoble Alpes on 28 January 2027. Proposals (approximately 300 words) should be sent to (opposizionimediatiche2027 /at/ ikmail.com) <mailto:(opposizionimediatiche2027 /at/ ikmail.com)> by 8 November 2026. The conference languages are French, Italian and English.

The full call for papers, available in all three languages and including the reference bibliography and further details on participation, can be found at the following link <https://kdrive.infomaniak.com/app/share/3521129/97e752a0-d2ea-49d5-a531-e5acc8a2569f>.

Best regards,

Noemi Magerand
