[Commlist] New book: The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Professional Communication

Ethical Space: The International Journal of Communication Ethics has 
published a special issue, The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in 
Professional Communication, in book form. The book, edited by Stephen J. 
A. Ward and Donald Matheson, brings together a dozen pieces of 
conceptual and empirical work, reflecting current thinking and practice 
from Europe, North America, Australia and Brazil.

This book tackles the urgent task of developing both ethical foundations 
and guardrails around the use of artificial intelligence in professional 
communication. Covering fields from journalism to humanitarian 
communication, indigenous communication practice and doctor-patient 
interaction and covering a wide range of countries, the papers and 
articles propose principles and frameworks for AI use and produce 
important empirical evidence of the state of practice in newsrooms and 
other media producers. The collection brings together senior scholars 
alongside fresh perspectives.
