The 2027 edition of the annual conference and awards ceremony of the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies will be held in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 12 – 14 April.

This email contains information pertaining, first, to proposal submissions for inclusion in the conference schedule and, second, to submissions to the BAFTSS Awards.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Conference Organizing Team now invites proposals for individual presentations, pre-constituted panels of up to four presenters, and practice submissions, exploring new research in film, television, and screen studies, from any disciplinary or methodological perspective.

Submissions are invited for:

  *

Creative practice research concerned with screen media

  *

    Audio-visual scholarship in any format

  *

Roundtables and pre-constituted panels of no fewer than 3, and up to
a maximum of 4, submissions. We especially encourage pre-constituted
panels that mix methodologies and approaches (e.g., creative
practice research alongside more traditional conference presentations)

    the conference

  *

We also invite the Convenors of each BAFTSS Special Interest Group
