CALL FOR PAPERS: OBSCURA - CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL SOBRE HORROR Y CULTURA 
MEDIÁTICA CONTEMPORÁNEA (PLAZO AMPLIADO DE ENVÍO ABIERTO)

Estimados/as compañeros/as:
Nos complace invitarles a participar en Obscura. Congreso Internacional 
sobre Horror y Cultura Mediática Contemporánea, organizado por el grupo 
de investigación de la Universidad de Sevilla.
Este encuentro nace con el objetivo de consolidar un foro académico 
internacional e interdisciplinar para analizar el terror como eje 
vertebrador de la narrativa contemporánea (cine, televisión, videojuegos 
y plataformas digitales), conectando la teoría académica con la práctica 
profesional y la industria.
Actualmente nos encontramos en el segundo plazo de envío (plazo 
ampliado), por lo que les resumimos los datos clave para remitir sus 
propuestas antes del cierre definitivo:

MODALIDADES DE PARTICIPACIÓN (ESPAÑOL O INGLÉS)

  * Comunicaciones individuales: Título, resumen (200-250 palabras),
    palabras clave y breve biografía.
  * Propuestas de panel: Coordinadas por un máximo de 5 participantes.
  * Videoensayos: Piezas audiovisuales breves (4 a 10 minutos) con
    subtítulos en el idioma inverso al audio.

PRINCIPALES EJES TEMÁTICOS
El congreso abarca enfoques que van desde el análisis estético hasta el 
impacto social:

  * Elevated horror, autoría y legitimación cultural.
  * Ética, política, discurso social y memoria histórica en el terror.
  * Representaciones del trauma, violencia psicológica y salud mental.
  * Terror, identidad, género, diversidad y cuerpos (otredad).
  * Videojuegos, experiencias inmersivas y horror interactivo.
  * Prácticas profesionales (guion, dirección y producción).

PLAZOS DE ENVÍO ACTUALES E INSCRIPCIÓN
El comité evalúa las propuestas de forma continua a medida que se 
reciben para ofrecer una respuesta rápida:

  * SEGUNDO PLAZO DE ENVÍO (AMPLIADO Y ACTIVO): Hasta el 10 de
    septiembre (inclusive).
  * Comunicación de aceptación: Antes del 25 de septiembre.

/Nota:/ El primer plazo de tarifa reducida finalizó el 10 de julio. Para 
consultar las tarifas vigentes, visite la sección "Inscripción" en la web.
ENVÍOS Y CONTACTO

  * Plataforma de envío: Los resúmenes se suben directamente en el
    formulario de la web oficial (esquina superior derecha, sección
    "Envío de propuestas"), iniciando sesión con su institución o cuenta
    externa.
  * Publicaciones: Se están gestiónando posibles publicaciones derivadas
    en revistas académicas y editoriales de impacto.

CALL FOR PAPERS: OBSCURA - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HORROR AND 
CONTEMPORARY MEDIA CULTURE (EXTENDED SUBMISSION DEADLINE NOW OPEN)
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in Obscura: International 
Conference on Horror and Contemporary Media Culture, organized by the 
research group at the University of Seville.
This conference aims to establish an international and interdisciplinary 
academic forum to analyze horror as a backbone of contemporary narrative 
(cinema, television, video games, and digital platforms), bridging 
academic theory with professional practice and the media industry.
We are currently in the second submission period (extended deadline). 
Please find the key details below to submit your proposals before the 
final closing date:
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES (SPANISH OR ENGLISH)

  * Individual papers: Title, abstract (200-250 words), keywords, and a
    short bio.
  * Panel proposals: Up to 5 participants or co-authors.
  * Video essays: Short audiovisual pieces (4 to 10 minutes) with
    subtitles in the opposite language of the audio track.

MAIN THEMATIC TRACKS
The conference covers perspectives ranging from aesthetic analysis to 
social impact:

  * "Elevated horror", authorship, and cultural legitimacy.
  * Ethics, politics, social discourse, and historical memory in horror.
  * Representations of trauma, psychological fear, and mental health.
  * Horror, identity, gender, diversity, and bodies (otherness).
  * Video games, immersive experiences, and interactive horror.
  * Professional practices (screenwriting, directing, and production).

CURRENT DEADLINES & REGISTRATION
Submissions are peer-reviewed on a rolling basis to ensure a prompt 
response:

  * SECOND SUBMISSION DEADLINE (EXTENDED & ACTIVE): Until September 10th
    (inclusive).
  * Notification of acceptance: By September 25th.

/Note:/ The first early-bird deadline closed on July 10th. To check 
current registration fees, please visit the "Registration" section on 
the website.
SUBMISSIONS & CONTACT

  * Submission Platform: Abstracts must be submitted through the
    official conference website (top right corner, "Call for Papers"
    section) by logging in with your institutional or external user 
account.
  * Publications: The organizing committee is currently coordinating
    with academic journals and publishers for potential post-conference
    publications.
