It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Communication and Media Studies, Cultural studies, Applied Linguistics; Multimodal Studies; Language Learning and Intercultural Communication; Learning with Digital Technologies; Art, Design and Museology; Music Education; Academic writing; English education.

We are seeking to appoint a *Lecturer Teaching in Media and Advertising* to join our fast-growing *Communications* team. You will contribute to the design and delivery of engaging, industry-focused teaching and enterprise activity that reflects the rapidly evolving advertising and communication landscape in the age of digital media, platforms and AI.

The role will involve teaching in areas such as *Advertising, Consumer Culture, Digital Marketing and Promotion, Public Relations, and AI and Data Analytics*, while also contributing to other modules across the department, and developing innovation and enterprise activity in these areas, including development and delivery of professional courses and consultancy.

You will hold at least a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Advertising, Marketing, Media and Communication, or a related field) and have experience of teaching in Higher Education. A PhD (completed or near completion) in Advertising, Public Relation, Strategic Communication, Marketing, Management or a related field would be desirable.

In addition, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to *student learning and wellbeing*, along with the ability to work within an *interdisciplinary environment*. You will also be a collegial and collaborative team member, committed to contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the BA Communications programme.

You will contribute to teaching and teaching-related activities on courses offered by the IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society and to offer specialist supervision to research students (MPhil, EdD and PhD). In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the teaching and teaching-related activities of the BA Communications as well as the Applied Linguistics, TESOL and Intercultural Communication (ALTIC) group in CCM, including supervising MA dissertations and doctoral students.

With a doctorate in Computational Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence and Linguistics, Cognitive Science with applied computational linguistics, or in a related combination of fields, you will also have a proven record of relevant and high-quality publications suitable for inclusion in future Research Excellence Framework assessments.
