submissions for a special issue on “The commons as a force for
rethinking information production?”.
Deadline: May 31, 2026

Éric George, Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada
Fábio Henrique Pereira, Université Laval, Canada
Nathalie Pignard-Cheynel, Université de Neuchâtel, Switzerland
This special issue explores how the notion of the commons can help
rethink contemporary information production and journalism.
Contributions may address topics including:
- media management and governance practices
- media metadiscourses and marginalized voices
- relationships between public service media and the commons
- journalists’ work, newsroom organization, sociotechnical systems,
open-source tools, decentralized infrastructures, and Creative Commons
The journal welcomes submissions that combine structural analysis with
attention to innovation, and that link contemporary developments with
longer-term perspectives.
Submission guidelines:
- Full manuscripts: 30,000 to 50,000 characters, including footnotes and
references
- Languages: English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish
- Double-blind peer review
- No payment of any kind will be required from authors for submission or
publication.
