The aim of this special issue is to focus on the growing presence of 
true crime in recent years across all territories and media platforms. 
We invite scholars to submit their contributions, particularly those 
addressing issues such as authorship; the role of producers and 
showrunners as creative agents; true crime consumption and its 
configurations in relation to VOD platforms and podcasting; modes of 
audience engagement; narrative strategies, including hybrid forms 
between fiction and documentary; gender-based violence; and the social 
impact of true crime.
Other approaches and research questions are also welcome.
Submissions are accepted in English and Spanish.
No publication fees will be charged for accepted papers in this special 
issue.
The deadline for article submissions is January 15, 2027.

El objetivo de este monográfico es poner el foco en la creciente 
presencia del true crime durante los últimos años en todos los 
territorios y ventanas. Invitamos a las y los investigadores a enviar 
sus trabajos, especialmente aquellos relativos a la autoría, el rol de 
productores-showrunners como creadores, el consumo de true crime y las 
modelizaciones relacionadas con las plataformas de VOD y el podcasting, 
las formas de consumo, las estrategias narrativas propias e híbridas de 
la ficción y el documental, la violencia de género y la incidencia e 
impacto social del true crime. Otros enfoques y problemas serán 
igualmente bienvenidos.

Se aceptan contribuciones en inglés y español.

No se cobrarán tasas de publicación por los artículos aceptados en este 
monográfico.

La fecha para el cierre de recepción de artículos es el 15 de enero de 2027.
