Intellect is pleased to present International Journal of Media &
Cultural Politics 20.3!
Special Issue: ‘50 Years of Nixon’s Fall After Watergate’
The Watergate scandal, investigated by journalists Bob Woodward and Carl
Bernstein, is often viewed as the defining moment that elevated the role
of investigative journalism in the United States and beyond. Nixon’s
resignation highlighted, among other things, journalism’s ability to
hold the powerful accountable. This Special Issue revisits Watergate 50
years later, exploring its lasting impact on investigative journalism
and its role in promoting democratic accountability.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the release of All the President’s Men
(7 April 1976) two of the articles in this issue will be made free to
access from release for a period of 3 months; 'Unravelling Watergate’s
impact: Revisiting Bernstein and Woodward’s approach for journalism in
the digital age

by W. Joseph Campbell. The editorial

also permanently free to read and provides an overview of the issue as a
whole.
